PTTC AND ST. SCHOLASTICA’S COLLEGE OFFER FRANCHISE MANAGEMENT GRADUATE AND DIPLOMA COURSES

The Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Department of Trade and Industry’s export and MSME training arm and St. Scholastica’s College of Manila (SSC) will jointly conduct a ladderized program focusing on Franchising Management.

Franchising is a powerful alternative to expand businesses. Its success lies on using another company’s business model The business has already reached 35% of the retail output compared to only 5% contribution to the industry in early 1990s. Among the Philippines’ top franchises are Jollibee, 7-11, Goldilock’s, AMA Computer Learning Center, Aquabest, Lots’ a Pizza, Binalot and a lot more.

To encourage more people to enter the franchise business, PTTC and SSC developed a Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Franchise Management. Approved by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), this will lead to a Master of Science.

Target participants are existing entrepreneurs who want to establish a franchise, those who plan to explore the business model, new franchisors, owners of high-growth businesses, existing franchisees and potential purchasers of franchise business.

The schedule will consist of a Pre-Graduate Program (Franchise Business Concept on March 12-13, 2013, a Graduate Certificate in Franchise Operations (Franchise Business Planning on April 16-17, 2013, Franchise Legal Aspects on April 25-26, 2013, Franchise Business Operations on May 7-9, 2013, and Franchise Relationship on May 21-22, 2013) and Graduate Diploma in Franchise Management (Marketing of Branded Business on June 4-5, 2013, Financial Leverage for the Franchisor/Franchisee on June 26-27, 2013, Management of Human Resources for Franchise Business on July 2-3, 2013, and Business Systems Development in Franchising on July 9-10, 2013).

Recognized franchising experts, experienced industry practitioners and trained facilitators from the academe will be the program’s resource persons.
