Customized in-house trainings offered by PTTC
Good news to MSMEs and other local organizations! The Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) goes directly to various companies to conduct customized trainings.
Just recently, PTTC conducted an Advanced MS Excel Seminar for the staff of the Air Materiel Wing Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (AMWSLAI). Held last May 24-25, 2010, the focus of the training dwelt on the loans association’s preparation of financial reports The attendees were composed of key AMWSLAI main and branch offices staff.
PTTC invited seasoned IT consultant and trainer, Mr. Omar F. Abesamis, to handle the seminar topics such as: Data Capture Tools in Excel; Data Analysis Tools in Excel including SQL Drill and Ad-Hoc Forms for reporting purposes; and Data Collaboration Techniques in MS Excel including capabilities for multiple worksheet access and collaboration.
AMWSLAI requested this training to enhance its employees’ productivity on the maximum use of their existing MS Excel Program; to enable users to extract and import valuable data; and to create various data capture forms in worksheets and workbooks.
After completing the training, the AMWSLAI staff realized that beyond their basic knowledge of MS Excel, they can provide value-added service to the association’s stakeholders, thus becoming more productive and efficient.
AMWSLAI Staffing and Development Associate Ms. Cheryll S. Saguid shared her experiences after the training, “At first I thought this seminar was boring but I was wrong when I discovered that exploring the different functions and uses of MS Excel was both exciting and challenging. It helped me a lot in doing my reports and presentations using Excel. Ms. Myrna Cea of the General Accounting Section confirmed this remark adding, “Excel exercises are fun! We were enjoying while learning”.
With the successful outcome of this training, the AMWSLAI Human Resources Department decided to include more batches of their employees to undergo the PTTC-led MS Excel Training.
PTTC hopes to encourage more local companies to avail of its customized trainings for groups of about 20 participants. For just a minimal fee, the programs are designed and developed to address the specific needs of the participants.
